GREAT Community Transport is a community not for profit organisation and as such we rely heavily on our wonderful volunteers.

Our volunteers assist in a variety of roles including:
  • Carer ⁄ Companions - assist our clients to shops on a regular basis and at times accompany clients to medical appointment
  • Bus assistants - help our drivers to collect our clients from their homes to go on special outings, centre based meals and medical appointments.
  • Office Receptionist - assist in either our Lawson or Kingswood office answering phones, taking client bookings and assisting paid staff with other administrative duties.
  • Volunteer team drivers - provide transport to medical/hospital appointments using GCT’s fund-raised vehicles.
  • Volunteer medical drivers - provide transport to medical appointments using their own comprehensively insured vehicles.
  • Board of Management
We provide uniforms, training, support & reimburse our volunteers for out - of pocket expenses. To find out how you can help us please ring our Lawson office 4759 2403 or Penrith office 4722 3083.

Fundraising is very important for providing additional resources and services. GREAT Community Transport is a charity and we welcome suggestions and volunteers.

Assessment and Privacy Statement

To become a client of GREAT Community Transport each person is assessed as to their transport needs and contributions towards the service are negotiated individually.

Clients requesting transport assistance need to give at least 3 working days notice. Transport cancellations are to be given with as much notice as possible.
